Deale Elementary School is located in the pleasant waterfront community of Deale, Maryland. The school is composed of over 300 children, coming from a variety of social economic backgrounds. The children reflect their rural, country-style heritage, where traditional family and school values still remain a part of daily lives. Our school was renovated in 1995. Statistically, the school has 11% of its students receiving special education services, 7% of its students on free and reduced lunches, and approximately 10% are currently minority students. The school is progressing well with the Maryland School Performance Assessment Plan, as 50% or better of the students are passing that test in most instructional areas.

Discipline is presently not an issue at Deale, as less than 1% of the children generate any referrals to the office. These offenses are generally of verbal disagreements between children and not of any serious nature.

Deale has an outstanding faculty. The average teacher at Deale has a master's degree and over twenty years of teaching experience. The teachers at Deale are dedicated to delivering the best educational experience they can for each of their students.

There are many parents involved in the school's instructional program as volunteers and guest readers for children. The school enjoys an active, hard-working PTA. Many children are involved with the United Youth Club (UYC) and the Deale Educational Athletics LEague (D.E.A.LE), the local athletic associations.

All in all, the Deale community is a wonderful place to raise children. It is where educational opportunities are the spring board and foundation for all of our future citizens.
