WHY
To offer children in Southern Anne Arundel County an opportunity to
learn/play chess with their peers.
OTHER INFORMATION
All children attending must have an adult present.
All levels of play are welcome.
Bring your chessboard and RSVP.
Food will not be available. Water fountains are available.
Three levels of play - Beginner, Novice, Accomplished
Beginner - Children/parents that have trouble moving the pieces or have
never played.
Novice - Children/parents that know how all pieces move but have
occasional questions. May not know En Passant, Castling, touch rules,
etc.
Accomplished - Children/parents that know how all pieces move. Can play
independently.
We will divide the players into the three groups. The accomplished
players will spend the two hours playing each other with a parent or two
available to oversee their activities. The novice players will also play
each other but will have more parents helping. The beginners, children
and parents, will be taught how to play.
If you plan to attend, please provide me names of all children/adults
along with corresponding skill level and school attending and grade level.
Please remember to bring your chessboard.
